First pedal strokes and first running steps
What if the most cost-effective lever in your triathlon didn't require any extra training sessions? The quality of your movement is often overlooked, even though it brings you comfort and speed simply by making your movement more efficient. Before trying to go faster, you're going to learn to move better. In this module, you'll adjust your basic bike position, establish a smooth pedal stroke and cadence, and correctly place your foot during your run. Three simple fundamentals, valid for your entire season.
What you'll learn
- •You'll adjust the essential contact points of your bike position: saddle height, hands and gaze, to ride comfortably and safely.
- •You'll maintain a smooth pedal stroke and a comfortable cadence, and use your gears to keep it stable regardless of the terrain.
- •You'll recognize a relaxed and economical stride, with a foot placement under the knee that limits braking.
- •You'll understand that a strong core stabilizes your movement on the bike and during your run - a habit to maintain all year long.
- •You'll understand the hierarchy of technicality for cycling and running, to know where to invest your time.
