Strength training: your ally from day one

Swim, bike, run. Do you think triathlon is just three disciplines? There's a fourth, and it changes everything. Strength training is what makes your body able to handle hours of training, go faster at every pace, and stay available season after season. No gym needed, no heavy weights, no prior experience. A few bodyweight exercises, a well-braced core, and lots of patience. It all starts today.

    What you'll learn

    • You understand why strength training is a true pillar of triathlon, alongside swimming, cycling, and running.
    • You set up your first bodyweight exercises (squats, lunges, step-ups, adapted push-ups) with safe posture.
    • You activate your core and keep your torso braced during a simple effort, a reflex to maintain all season long.
    • You learn to progress little by little, to stop one or two reps before exhaustion, and to do your strength training after a session, never before.
    • You master the basic vocabulary (set, rep, load, recovery) to follow any program afterwards.
